Abstract

The journey from the decline of the Indus Valley Civilization to the rise of the Vedic Age marks one of the most significant transitions in South Asian history. This paper explores the cultural, economic, and environmental factors that contributed to the collapse of the Harappan cities and examines how these influences shaped the emergent Vedic civilization. Drawing from archaeological evidence, linguistic studies, and ancient texts, it investigates the continuity and transformation of societal structures, religious practices, and technological advancements. The study also highlights the enduring legacy of this period, connecting the enigmatic Indus script to early Vedic literature and rituals. By bridging the gap between these two eras, this research sheds light on the resilience and adaptability of ancient civilizations and their profound influence on subsequent cultural developments in the Indian subcontinent.
