EXPLORING THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES IN THE LACUNAE OF KHALID HOSSEINI'S WORKS
Abstract
This article explores the similarities and differences in the lacunae present in the works of acclaimed author Khalid Hosseini, focusing on his novels "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns." Through a thematic analysis of memory and identity, silence and voice, and love and redemption, common threads and distinct elements in the lacunae of his narratives are identified.
The examination reveals that both novels delve deep into themes of memory and identity, highlighting the universal struggle for self-discovery and redemption. Additionally, the exploration of silence and voice underscores the power dynamics within relationships and societies, while the themes of love and redemption illuminate the transformative potential of human connections.
By juxtaposing the similarities and differences in the lacunae of Hosseini's works, this study provides insights into the thematic richness and narrative complexity of his storytelling, offering a poignant reflection on the enduring quest for meaning, connection, and hope in the face of personal and societal challenges.
